Here is the latest project from Vans, it is the Vans Authentic Jute SF, which is made from 78% recycled materials. The shoe features a hemp upper with embroidered eyelets and a dri-lex bamboo footbed lining. This is a really earth friendly shoe right down to the water-based inks and glues. [EUKicks]

A couple of new New Balance M579J’s have just hit shelves in limited quantities in Japan. These shoes feature a make up consisting of mesh, leather and suede. One of the shoes has a black/gray/purple/aqua colorway, while the other features brown/mustard/aqua/pink. [EUKicks]

Nike in cooperation with 3 Inches of Blood, a Canadian heavy metal band, crafted the darkest Nike 6.0 Zoom Oncore High. The Viking folklore and mythical carnage-inspired sneaker translates the band’s soundtrack of mayhem. Dunk Lows from Nike are always nice and probably these are the best ones to come out this year so far. The two sneakers come in a white upper with leather that is patent. Below them are red and green midsoles. This release comes as a part of the Nike Sportswear 2009 collection. This will be released in the coming weeks. The Vans Vault will be dropping a new hightop sneaker on us this fall, it is called the Hi Fi LX. The pack will release in 3 different colorways, a black pony hair, black/white pony hair zebra pattern and gold/purple colorway.
