Eric “Shake” James and adidas Release the adistar Control 5 “Cranberry 5’s”

adidas and Eric “Shake” James, founder of Milwaukee’s CLICKS and Black Market, link up for the adistar Control 5. Shake’s journey of surviving cancer and reclaiming “Control” of his life takes shape through a colorway inspired by Wisconsin’s state fruit. The deep cranberry tones reflect the warmth, strength, and pride of the Milwaukee community that helped him rebuild his foundation.

The release also marks the reopening of the original Black Market space, now home to JAY ACADEMY, a year-round community hub focused on Milwaukee youth. The Academy will provide tutoring, mentorship, creative workshops, DJ and computer classes, and even “fades-for-grades” haircut sessions, all designed to empower the next generation through creativity and connection.

To celebrate, adidas Cornerstone Community and Shake are bringing the city together with a full lineup of events:

– Sneaker Fair at Dr. Howard Collegiate Academy
– Grand Unveiling of JAY ACADEMY
– Take Control of the Mic comedy show and afterparty.
