Nike Woven Tennis Classic
Remember when Woven was the byword for hard-to-find Nike hype that acted as the prototype for the cynical, queue-jumping world we currently lived-in? Of course since then we’ve had Desert Boots, Air Maxes, Jordan Brand products, Air Force Ones and Footscapes amongst other Swooshed products taken to the loom. Of course the OG Air Woven was a handmade shock to the system, an acquired taste, that really pushed the experimental boundaries of fashion-orientated sneakers. That was then. This is now. Even the most innocuous high street staple couldn’t escape being infected by the creeping menace of the weave. An everyman kick given a treatment that blew minds and split opinion at the turn of the millennium. It’s a sign of the times or something like that- to be honest, we can’t be bothered to overanalyze it. It’s a plain shoe with a choice of either a red and blue weave or two shades of green on the tongue and toe, giving it an oddly Superstar-esque vibe, but the coloured outsoles are interesting. It is what it is and for those too sensible to take the plunge into fully Woven waters, consider these your ‘daring’ sneaks. The Woven Tennis Classic drops exclusively at size? very shortly…
